Dr. Hashel Al-Tunaiji, Chairman of the Sports Medicine Committee, National Olympic Committee, was elected as a member of the Development Committee of the International Sports Medicine Federation (FIMS) on the sidelines of the 37th edition of the International Sports Medicine Conference held in Mexico from 22nd to 25th of last September.
Electing Dr. Hashel Al-Tunaiji as a member of the Development Committee of the International Sports Medicine Federation (FIMS) aims at completing achievements of the UAE during the recent International Sports Medicine Conference, which witnessed the announcement of Dubai winning the right to host the 38th edition of the Conference in 2024. The Conference witnessed participation of several sports medicine committees from all over the world, in addition to presence of a selection of associates in the field of sports medicine, whether orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, nutritionists, occupational therapists and psychiatrists.
On his part, Dr. Hashel Al-Tunaiji expressed his pleasure at this success, which would not have been achieved without the State's great place in all sectors, including the medical sector, thanks to the exceptional potential of UAE to establish its reputation as one of the world-renowned destinations for holding events and hosting important events in the agenda of international organizations and institutions.
Al-Tunaiji referred that the work began as soon as Dubai’s winning the right to host the 38th edition of the global medical sports event was announced, which witnessed strong competition from all developed countries to host, including Croatia and Chile, indicating that the coming period will see ongoing meetings with Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism to identify all the targeted aspects of the management of the international conference, to ensure providing a distinct edition that befits size of reputation and prestige of the UAE.
