Last Saturday, the National Olympic Academy, in cooperation with the UAE Sports Sciences and Sports Medicine Center, held the scientific workshop "Artificial Intelligence and Digitization of Sports Institutions," which was delivered by lecturer Dr. Ihab Mohamed Ismail, an expert on artificial intelligence and digital systems in sports.

The workshop witnessed a review and discussion of 4 main axes: scientific concepts of nanotechnology and artificial intelligence in the sports field, the future integration between artificial intelligence and nanotechnology, applications and systems of artificial intelligence in the sports field, and applications of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in sports institutions.

At the end of the course, participants awarded a certificate by the National Olympic Academy and the UAE Sports Sciences and Sports Medicine Center, which is in line with government directives and smart transformation approved by our wise leadership in all sectors, after the launch of the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, which has among its objectives; training talents for future jobs that will enable artificial intelligence, attracting world-class research capabilities to work in the targeted sectors, training talent for future jobs that will enable artificial intelligence, and providing data and supporting basic infrastructure to become as a testing platform for artificial intelligence.

Abdullah Mahiwa, Chairman of the Provisional Committee for the Management of the UAE Sports Sciences and Sports Medicine Center, for his part, emphasized that the completion and implementation of thousands of transactions in a way that reduces time and effort and works to achieve the intended sustainability has become a strategic objective for all institutions, whether public or sports. He added: "While our wise leadership has approved many programs and initiatives to drive digital transformation efforts, particularly the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, we all seek to search for topics related to this aspect, each in his field of specialization. It is well known that there is a remarkable and rapid development in artificial intelligence in the sports field, which requires holding more courses and workshops to define the newest improvement and constant developments after this vital aspect has become an active role in protecting athletes and sports teams by preparing reports on predicting injuries and following up on the physical effort of players, in addition to designing and preparing nutritional programs for athletes according to the statistics provided by artificial intelligence for each player, as well as its important role in detecting sports talents without absolute dependence on results in performance evaluation”.
