NOC celebrates Flag Day at its headquarters in Dubai

In response to the call of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, the National Olympic Committee celebrated Flag Day this Friday morning at its headquarters in Dubai. The event was a profound expression of loyalty and pride in the UAE’s flag—a unifying symbol that embodies a deep sense of belonging and reaffirms the Union's enduring principles and achievements.

In a meaningful display, the NOC team gathered in the courtyard outside the premises of the NOC to attend the Flag Day celebrations and recite the national anthem. This annual event has become a highly anticipated occasion for institutions and organisations across the UAE to reaffirm their love for the nation and commitment to its prosperity.

His Excellency Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the NOC, emphasised that Flag Day is a cherished national initiative that resonates deeply with every citizen. “It is an occasion where everyone strives to show dedication and sacrifice to keep the UAE flag held high. This commitment extends to athletes who work year-round to embody this spirit by representing the nation in major sporting events, making every effort to reach the podium and achieve top rankings, where the UAE flag is raised as a testament to our journey,” he commented.

Al Mutawa also highlighted the vital role that athletes play in representing the UAE and enhancing its status on the global sports stage. As ambassadors of the nation, they uphold its image in all sports gatherings, especially in international competitions where the flag acts as a source of inspiration and motivation.

The Flag Day event was attended by several members of the NOC Board of Directors including His Excellency Mohammed bin Darwish, Executive Director of the NOC, and all staff members.
