NOC reviews preparations for 6th Women Sports Games in Kuwait

The UAE National Olympic Committee held a meeting with representatives of sports federations participating in the 6th Women Sports Games in Kuwait (20-30 October 2019).
Attendees of the coordinative meeting, which was held in the premises of the NOC in Dubai, included His Excellency Brigadier Saleh Mohammed bin Ashour – Assistant Secretary-General for Technical and Sports Affairs of the NOC, Advisor Mona Al Shamsi, Mohammed Bin Darwish – Executive Director of the NOC, Ms Mona Al Shamsi – Representative of the General Women’s Union, and representatives of various sports federations.
The meeting praised the continued support of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Maktoum – President of the NOC for UAE women in various sports events. Attendees voiced their intention to bring back home as much as possible medals from different sports in the programme to raise the profile of the nation.
The meeting also noted such events were no longer restricted to winning medals but would offer a chance to gain further expertise. A visual presentation was made giving information and statistics about the Games. The meeting stressed the importance of acting in a team spirit to realise the objectives set.
Brigadier bin Ashour stated that the NOC opted to meet with all sports federations well in advance of the Games to review key administrative and technical aspects. “Prior meeting with federations will familiarize all parties with all details and brief athletes with aspects subject to change. We are also aware of the importance of motivating our girls to achieve good results to add to the impressive record of women in all sports events,” he noted.
